KCCI 8 News - Des Moines App Reviews

I quite like this app, despite how frequent the breaking news is, but the recent addition of video ads that you cant pause are completely frustrating. I will close out the article without reading the news story in order to avoid them. It has already caused me to be less likely to click on stories. Please change, I want my news back!

How about an Apple TV app? Otherwise pretty good app

Videos are typically slow to load, if they load at all. Sometimes when I receive a news alert & check the app right away, the story isnt there. The story should be loaded to app before alerts are sent.

Get rid of them--hinders reading a story

Love KCCI no matter where Im watching it - its the best! The iPad/iPhone apps are just great and Im able to stay up to date with home news while traveling.

Nice to have fairly quick access to important event coverage! I enjoy the additional articles and the expansions on the ones of interest. Great ap but the KCCI promos are far too long and too many. They are well done but way too much

Liked the old app much better. Like my dad used to say "if its not broke dont fix it!" All the promos are way to much. I get why you need to advertise but this is on the verge of killing the desire to stay in your app.

The app isnt as good as it could be. Too many adds and the pop up ads after the last update are very annoying. Come on KCCI, you can do better.

I thought journalism and reporting the news was supposed to be a profession. I dont know how this station wins these awards they keep claiming with the childish writing and editing. YOU HAVE ONE JOB!!! My 13 year old nephew can write and edit these stories better. I cant even finish reading some of the "news" they put on here. And about the ads......I know youre a business but come on, this is ridiculous. I shouldnt have to determine whats a story and whats an ad. You had a decent app a long time ago but some idiot decided it was for the best to go with this. Get your stuff together and get back to what youre here for.

I really enjoy The news stories and weather reports on your app. I am disappointed at times with incorrect wording or spelling errors. It seems to happen a lot. Overall I love using the KCCI app and will use it as my go to new source in the future.

This was my go-to site for local news until the obnoxious (and loud) automatic ads started. Now I can no longer use this site in my office or many other business locations because theres no way to turn off or stop these ads.

I enjoy the news updates but dislike the introductory ads on easy story. If you had a way to see that a story had been reviewed, then not show that ad (whether for KCCI or a sponsor) again, it would make me check the news more often.

Have watched KCCI for past 15 years & LOVE the mobile app that keeps me connected!

with the update they now force you to watch ads before even watching/reading a news article or seeing the weather. It is so ridiculous I have deleted the app and started using a different local news station!

Has gotten better since the one a year ago. easier to get to interests. Dont like the repeated listing of same news items under multiple sections. Waste my time and limited viewing space. Need easier to find search functionality Fewer adds would be better Like the KCCI crew and content
